Dear JTMS Community,
It is with tremendous pride that I share with you our recognition of being named the 2024 California Distinguished School! Only 293 high schools across the state of California received this recognition, and this was the first time since the pandemic that high schools received this honor. Today was our WINGS Recognition Luncheon for "G" – Generous in Spirit. Dr. Levensailor and I had the privilege of recognizing two great accomplishments. First, our amazing students nominated by their teachers for demonstrating a generous spirit and their contributions to our community. Then, we were able to recognize the hard work and perseverance of our teachers, staff, and students as their continued efforts earned us the distinction of California Distinguished School. Schools earn this award for achieving exemplary performance and growth in English language arts and math, and for ensuring a positive school climate as measured by suspension and attendance rates. This recognition is another reminder of how fortunate we are to be in a school community that continually strives to be the best we can be for our students and for each other. Let's go Jets!!
